Prerequisites
To qualify for CISM certification, candidates need either an undergraduate degree or a high school diploma. Additionally, they must submit a completed application within five years of initially passing the exam. Certificates must have been obtained within 10 years prior to the date of application or within 5 years following the date of completion of the exam. Specifically, three of the five years of work experience must be in the role of an information security manager, covering three of the four CISM domains.

Exam & Certification
In order to obtain certification as a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), you must:
Pass the CISM exam
Adopt the ISACA code of professional ethics
Agree to the continuing education policy.
Have at least five years of experience in information security, including at least three as an Information Security Manager.
Must have experience in three or more of the four domains of CISM.
Must have independent verification of work experience by employers.
Submit an application for certification training within 5 years of first passing the CISM exam.

CISM Certification Training FAQs
The CISM certification cost is USD 575 for ISACA members and USD 760 for non-ISACA members.
SACA employs a scoring system that ranges from 200 to 800 for the CISM exam. A perfect score, where all questions are answered correctly, is represented by a scaled score of 800. Conversely, a scaled score of 200 is the lowest possible score, indicating that only a few questions were answered correctly.
To pass the CISM exam, you must attain a score of 450 or higher. Achieving this score demonstrates your proficiency in the subject matter and qualifies you for CISM certification.
You will receive the course completion certificate together with your 16 CPE certificate.
The CISM (Certified Information Security Manager) exam is administered three times a year, typically in the months of July, September, and December.
